10YFP Board and SCP Partners Meeting
The 10YFP Board and SCP Partners Meeting on February 24, 2024 will be held in the context of the 6th UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya. Our one-day event features dynamic thematic sessions, showcasing multilateral actions in digital standards, circular economy, built environments, food systems, sugarcane value-chain, and scientific approaches. Open to our Board, SCP partners, and all interested member states and stakeholders.
The 10YFP Board and SCP Partners Meeting is scheduled to take place on February 24, 2024 at UNEP HQ in Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting will be held within the context of the sixth session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), which focuses on addressing interconnected planetary crises and promoting effective, inclusive, and sustainable multilateral actions against climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
Open to our Board and Partners as well as all interested member states and stakeholders, the one-day meeting, convened by the 10YFP Board, aims to highlight the role of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) and circular economy approaches in addressing the theme of UNEA-6. The meeting will showcase best practices and relevant initiatives linked to the implementation of the Global Strategy for Sustainable Consumption & Production (2022-2030) and the Results Framework & Budget (2023-2024), and bring together the 10YFP Board and SCP partners, as well as interested member states and stakeholders.
The meeting will feature thematic discussions that align with the UNEA-6 theme, emphasizing the significance of SCP in promoting effective, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that address climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The topics addressed during the 10YFP Board and SCP Partners Meeting have been chosen as they exemplify tangible multilateral actions across high impact sectors to advance the implementation of sustainable consumption and production practices globally.
The meeting will offer multi-stakeholder dialogues around the following six areas:
i) Leveraging digital standards and digital product passports for sustainable consumption and production
ii) Bringing together business commitments and action towards a Global Circularity Protocol for business
iii) Enhancing multilateral action to accelerate the circular transition in the built environment
iv) Accelerating action to strengthen the environmental dimension of food systems transformation
v) Building circularity into the sugarcane value-chain
Promoting scientific and data-driven approaches to implement and measure sustainable consumption and production and promote the shift to sustainable lifestyles
