The Agricultural category of the Ecological Blue Flag Programme is an important investment towards changes in production and consumption patterns. Its greatest contribution is in terms of production patterns, but also is a nationally known Programme through its 19 categories, supporting consumption patterns.

Additionally, it promotes good practices in comprehensive water resource management, soil management and conservation, use and management of agricultural inputs, efficiency in the use of electricity, efficiency in the use of fossil fuels, comprehensive waste management, animal welfare and adaptation to climate change.
